Best & Brightest

Founded in 2006, the Best & Brightest Awards is designed to recognize and honor Leon County’s excelling high school seniors. Unlike most scholarship programs, awards are not based solely on GPA. The varying categories of the Best & Brightest Awards allow students who excel in a particular field to be rewarded for their hard work and dedication. There is also emphasis on community service and civic duty. Seven years ago, the Best & Brightest Awards added a new element, the 8th Grade Essay Contest. This contest is integral in catching the attention of younger students in Leon County and instilling the importance of community service before they begin their high school careers. The scholarship program is a partnership between local Leon County area public and private schools and World Class Schools of Leon County.
